At GDS we pride ourselves in offering a pragmatic approach to tackling energy conservation within the built environment specific to the individual project requirements and budget.
Hand in hand with the physical changes that can be made to improve energy performance of buildings is the need for resident engagement to ensure that the physical measures are put to their best use.
We are well versed in the preparation of bespoke resident engagement strategies to ensure that our client’s best efforts for Energy efficiency are accompanied by a resident education program and continued resident dialogue post completion.
Within GDS we have qualified EPC, Green Deal and ECO Assessors.
We have considerable experience of both EWI (External Wall Insulation) and IWI (Internal Wall Insulation) schemes including their application within hard to treat properties, high rise blocks and properties of non-traditional construction.
A majority of our new build and regeneration projects contain some form of renewable energy, we like to steer our clients toward the most economic and useful form of renewable sources and ensure that they consider a sensible approach taking in account, whole life cost, grant funding and generation tariffs.
Our Surveyors have undertaken large scale PV installation programs for local authorities and have project managed refurbishment and new build schemes to successful certification of BREEAM, EnerPHit and Code for Sustainable Homes level 6.
GDS are able to provide and advise on both material matters to physically reduce energy consumption but also occupier advice to enable a reduction in energy consumption in relation to how the property is used. We are able to provide the following services, but not limited to:

- Sustainable and renewable energy design and advice
